The Histories of Punjab written by Ghulam Muhiyaddin, known as Boote Shah

تواریخ پنجاب از من تصنیف غلام محی الدین المعروف بوته شاه

The manuscript is in Persian and starts from dafter-e panjum, or the Book Five, narrating the story of the expansion of the realm of Maharaja Ranjit Singh (d. 1839), popularly known as Shir-e Punjab (the Lion of Punjab), who was the first Maharaja of the Sikh Empire. He is able to take the throne of the Punjab after it’s destruction many years ago after the death of Akbar, the Mughal emperor, and the the sack of Punjab by the Afghans.

The manuscript narrates how the padshah of Kabul went to Lahore (p. 19) and how maharaja Ranjit Singh was able to conquer Lahore in 1856/1214. Multan was also captured in 1860/1218, and the nawab of the city had to pay 70000 rupees annually. He encroached to Kashmir in 1871, however, he was defeated by the Afghans in the Mountain of Pir Panjal (in fact Pir Panjal Range).
