احوال خاندان های ریاست پتیاله/ the Situations of the ruler families of Patiala

Writer's picture: lchamankhahlchamankhah

The manuscript is in Urdu (with a few pages in Punjabi) and is registered under MSS 332057.

The manuscript under consideration, is one of the other one-hundred and ninety manuscripts that are stored and organized (and in fact very badly organized) as “Persian manuscripts” in the manuscript department (aka Dr. Ganda Singh Collection) of the central library of Punjabi University. However, half of them is in Persian, and out of this number, half is readable and comprehensible. The rest is mostly in Urdu and a few is in Punjabi, which are classified as Persian manuscripts. Furthermore, there exists bilingual, and in rare cases trilingual (Persian, Urdu and Punjabi) manuscripts in the same section as well. Given this, the number of Persian manuscripts of this collection is less than fifty.

I am grateful to the crew of the central library as well as Dr. Ganda Singh Collection for their friendly cooperation.
